FIRST PACE CANDIDATES : THE FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL AND GENERAL ELECTIONS

For the very first time in its history, PACE has candidates to the elections. PACE’s President, Philippe MAZUEL, took part to an online citizens primary (https://laprimaire.org/) to be candidate to the French Republic presidency. He arrived at the 6th position at the first round (out of 168 candidates), and we supported Roxane REVON for the second round. She arrived 2nd.

But this is not the end. PACE will have some candidates at the French general elections in June 2017. We can already confirm the following candidacies :

3rd EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP DAY – ABBEVILLE AND BERLIN

On the 7th of February, PACE gathered in Abbeville (France) and Berlin (Germany) for the 3rd European Citizenship Day. 25 years after the signing of the Maastricht treaty, we got together in Abbeville to meet the inhabitants and talk about social Europe, and in Berlin to talk about the european federalism in the wake of Brexit.

MARCH FOR EUROPE – 60th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ROME TREATY

PACE took part to the great March for Europe organized in Rome for the 60th anniversary of the Rome treaty, on March 25th. The Europeans accomplished many great things in 60 years, such as the Schengen area or the common currency, but there is a need now for a new push to improve the cohesion and solidarity between Europeans : social and fiscal Europe, European defence…
